PMRS has several opportunities available for both direct care employees (Community Support Specialists/CSS), entry level management positions and administrative positions.

PMRS employees are eligible for medical, dental and vision benefits after their first 60-days of employment the bulk of which is employer paid with employees making a nominal contribution every pay period, employees are eligible for a group rate with AFLAC a supplemental insurance provider, we offer employees the opportunity to contribute to a Tax Shelter Annuity in order to save for/plan for retirement, PMRS meets the requirement for the Federal Student Loan Forgiveness program, we offer paid vacation after one year of employment, employees are eligible for 40-hours paid sick time annually, PMRS offers paid training. After an initial training period employees will have a set schedule, if applicable to the position, and will be offered overtime hours if requested. Job1 : Community Support Specialist (C.S.S.) -Direct Support Professionals DSP)

Salary:  Starting: $17.50 per hour
Entry level position
Location:  Group Homes within the NE and SE Portland area
Full time: (30+ hours per week)
All Shifts available

Description:  Portland Metro Residential Service’s (PMRS) C.S.S. work with and support individuals of all abilities to achieve their life goals, enhance their social circle, encourage independence and self-advocacy, learn new skills as they request such as cooking, cleaning, financial responsibilities, effective communication, coping skills, independent medication administration to name a few.  A C.S. S. will be responsible for:

  • Provide comprehensive input for each person you work with to assist in developing a person-centered Individual Support Plan- Ensuring all supports noted in the supported person’s plan are implemented and followed.
  • Provide a high quality of care including support in all ADL’s as needed by each individual, meal preparation, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Participate in activities both in the home and in the community as identified in the person-centered plan.
  • Provide medical supports such as administering medication per a medical providers order, PT exercises, taking and supporting people with their doctor appointments.
  • Work professionally with all family members and friends of the supported person, case manager, medical professionals, co-workers.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe and heathy environment.

Requirements:

  • No Experience necessary, we provide on the job paid training
  • 18 years or older
  • Be able to pass a background check conducted by the Department of Human Services
  • Dependable, honest
  • Be able to lift, pull, push at least 50 lbs.
  • Be proficient in verbal and written communication.  Sign language skills are an added benefit.
Job 2 : Residential Manager

Salary:  $20.00 per hour
Entry level management position
Location:  Group Homes within the NE and SE Portland area
Full time: 40 hours per week
Day shift Monday – Friday some OT may be required

Description:  Portland Metro Residential Services has a Residential Manager in each program.  The Function of a Residential Manger is to complete mid-level supervisory management duties as well as continue to complete direct care supports as defined. To ensure the day-to-day operations of the program, maintain licensing requirements and adhere to policies and procedures. Ensures maximum opportunity for choices and a lifestyle that reflects a respect for quality of life for all supported persons.

The Manager’s Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Supervising Community Support Community Support Specialist (C.S.S.) (Direct Support Professionals) through training, completion of annual evaluations, developing job duties and site schedules, direct supervision of job performance skills of C.S.S. Coordinate and run staff meetings. Maintain BOLI, State and County employee regulations through adhering to agency policies and procedures.

Ensure medical/physical needs are met for all supported persons by scheduling and attending appointments per procedures as well as ensuring the monitoring of medications/treatments/MAR’s per policies and procedures.

Foster positive working relationships with family members, guardians, vocational providers, county and state agencies, medical providers and /or any other outside service agencies a supported person and/or the agency may utilize

Participate in all aspects of the most current ISP process.

On call duties as defined on a rotating basis

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer one or more years of experience working in the human service field. Some supervisory experience helpful.
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Be able to pass a background check conducted by the Department of Human Services
  • Dependable, honest, have excellent organization skills
  • Be able to lift, pull, push at least 50 lbs.
  • Be proficient in verbal and written communication.  Sign language skills are an added benefit
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and a reliable, safe vehicle.
Job 3 : Float Community Support Specialist (C.S.S.) (Direct Support Professional)

Salary: $18.50 per hour
Entry level position
Location:  Group Homes within the NE and SE Portland area
Full time: (40 hours per week) 5 positions only

Description: This position will not have a set schedule or set program but will be provided a schedule every 2 weeks to fit the needs of the agency. The ideal candidate must be flexible in their available hours/days of work which is why this position, while having the same duties as a Community Support Specialist, is paid more per hour. This position is a full-time position thus eligible for all benefits offered to a Community Support Specialist.
